Our first Partnership Meeting of Year 7 was a success as 

it served as a reintroduction of what Best Start Wilmington is, who we consist of, our purpose, and how community members and organizations can get involved in making Wilmington a healthier, safer place for children ages 0-5 and their families. 

After introducing our new Lideres de Wilmington (LCW), we had a presentation on the importance of systems and policy change in the work that we do to address the root of our community-identified priorities. We also had special guests presenting on our Best Start priority of Safety: LAPD officers Reynaldo Solarzano and Maligi Nua sharing resources available to the community, and Krystal Mousse and Steven Cagle from the County of Los Angeles Department of Public Health hosting an Overdose Prevention training.
